Organic SEO Tips And Free SEO Tools
In order to create a search engine friendly web site, some basic rules need to be followed. The term used for this type of project is Search Engine Optimization, or SEO. The goal is to move up in the Google rankings, as well as other search engines, for keyword terms that are relevant to your business.
Step #1. Use free SEO tools for keyword suggestions.
The Google toolbar can be of some help, as well as this free SEO tool by wordtracker:

Step #2. Use Keywords in Your File Names.
The way that you name your website files matters for SEO. For example, a page that books hotels in Las Vegas, should be named: yourdomain.com/hotel_reservations_las_vegas.htm, and don’t use spaces in file names, seperate the words with an _ (underscore) or a - (dash).
Step#3. Make it easy for search engines to find your site!
The most important organic SEO tip, and if you do only one thing, this should be it, is to use your keyword terms in these 4 places on your pages….The Title tag, the Description meta tag, the Alt Image tag of your logo, and in The Footer of your page.
Step #4 Use a free Meta Tag Analyzer Tool
The tool I use is located here:
http://www.seocentro.com/tools/search-engines/metatag-analyzer.html and can help you understand and tweak your web page.
Step #5. Use keyword text in your navigation.
For example, check out the bottom of this page, which has done a good job of adding descriptive footer navigation links to important pages within the site:

Step #6. Acquire a steady progression of links from well established, well connected web sites.
